Stop Night Class Cuts!

You may have heard that in the Budget, funding for Adult Community Education (ACE) in schools has been cut by 80% from the end of this year. As a consequence, a nation-wide campaign Stop Night Class Cuts! is now underway to save more than one hundred years of adult learning in schools.

Here's what you can do.

Let your local MP, the Minister of Education Hon Anne Tolley, the Minister of Finance, Hon Bill English and / or the Prime Minister, Hon John Key know how you feel about this decision.

A personal letter (rather than an e-mail) is the most effective way to influence politicians. It is FREE if you address the letter to Freepost, Parliament Buildings, Private Bag 18-888, Wellington 6160.

You could also write a letter to the editor to your local newspaper, or call a Talkback Radio station. Or, if you are a Facebook Member, join the Facebook group, "Stop Night Class Cuts!" and tell your story.

Our most powerful weapon in the fight to save ACE in schools is YOUR story of how attending a class has changed YOUR life.

More information and updates to the campaign are available at www.stopnightclasscuts.org.nz
