Computing

Our computer suites use Windows XP and Office 2003. One computer per student. You are entitled to a Certificate of Attendance if you complete 80% of a course. Just ask your tutor.

Beginners

If you’ve never used a computer before, you’ll love the friendly, patient tutors who teach our Beginners’ courses. Our tutors are trained professionals and we’ve had successful students from their teens to their 80’s! Small classes mean plenty of opportunity for your questions to be answered. Computing for Absolute Beginners
Limited to 10 Students
This course is designed for those who have not yet begun or just started using computers. Typically people who join this class will have a computer or are thinking of buying one and need some help to get started and have their questions answered. If you are not sure how to send email but would like to “climb aboard,” this is the course for you.

The Internet has revolutionised the way we do research, business and spend our leisuretime. All students enrolled in a course have a computer connected to the Internet to use. Learn how to make simple website for fun using Adobe Dreamweaver. This course will cover web design, creating web pages, text and formatting, adding images and tables, using templates and publishing your website. Wordprocessing & Presentations

Software used in these courses is MS Office 2003, but what you learn will be relevant to any version. Whether you want to write a letter or a novel, you can achieve perfect presentation of your documents using a word processing programme such as MS Word.
MS PowerPoint presentation software is widely used by business people, educators, students, and trainers. The presentation can be printed or displayed live on a computer and navigated through at the command of the presenter. For larger audiences the computer display can be projected using a data projector.

Microsoft Word - Beginners to Advanced
Limited to 10 Students
Gain confidence using MS Word. Our patient tutor shows you step-by-step how to produce documents and be confident editing, formatting, saving, printing, inserting pictures and working with tabs. You are then able to extend your skills to learn how to use section breaks, headers & footers, styles, create templates, as well as a table and doing a mail merge. Course notes supplied.
